Local homeowners can now hire Eight Penny Construction for repairs, painting, weatherization, carpentry projects, and odd jobs. Eight Penny is a Morgantown-based, licensed and insured residential contracting business and training program. Eight Penny’s workers are graduates of West Virginia Women Work’s “Step Up for Women,” through which they obtain several licenses and certifications. Equipped with this foundation, graduates of Step Up for Women who become Eight Penny employees then have the opportunity to earn as they continue to learn on the job.

“We are glad to help home owners with a variety of improvement and maintenance projects,” says Emilie Marlier, the construction supervisor, a journeyman carpenter and 32-year veteran of the trade. “We are especially interested in renovations that improve a home’s energy efficiency. That might include added insulation, door and window replacement, caulking and weather stripping.” Eight Penny also does cabinet installation, decks, ramps, drywall work and much more.

Eight Penny strives to enhance the comfort and value of your home while building the tool skills and boosting the confidence of tomorrow’s tradeswomen.
